Tara Tilley
Tara is a graduate of Morehead High School in Eden and after High School began working with the elderly at a skilled nursing facility as a CNA. While working, she has also attended Rockingham Community College. Tara’s father was injured on the job in 2005 while employed with Kobe Wieland Copper Products. Due to multiple back surgeries following the accident, Mr. Tilley has been unable to return to gainful employment. While working at the elderly care facility, Tara has developed a passion for Nursing and now has a career objective of becoming a Charge Nurse at a skilled care facility. Tara enrolled in the Nursing Department at Rockingham CC for the Spring 2010 semester to pursue her RN degree. She will have to cut back on her work hours due to the increased curriculum demands. The Director of the nursing facility where she works wrote, "Thinking of the care and attention she gives her job, I can only imagine how her commitment and positive attitude will serve her as she continues her education in the RCC Nursing Program." It is obvious that Tara is a giving individual as she states in her application, "I love the place that I work because of the people who live there." Back to Scholarships |
