Daniel Paige
Daniel is a graduate of South Stanley High School in Norwood, NC. When Daniel was only 7 years old, his father was killed in an on the job accident while employed with Southeastern Materials in Albemarle. After High School, Daniel enrolled in the NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville and graduated in 2007 with a GPA of 3.92. He then attended Stanley Community College for three semesters before deciding to pursue a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. He enrolled at UNC-Charlotte in the Spring of 2009 in their Mechanical Engineering program and upon graduation will be the first member of his family to earn a four year college degree. Prior to entering UNC-Charlotte, Daniel worked a 40 hour week at Michelin Aircraft Tire in Norwood in order to support himself while attending night classes at Stanley Community College. His letters of recommendation from engineers at Michelin provide glowing reports of a talented young man who has a strong work ethic with good communication and organizational skills. Their conclusion is that Daniel will become an outstanding engineer and a positive contributor to society. Back to Scholarships |
