Andrew Colman
Andrew Colman resides with his parents and younger brother, Matthew, in Ridgeway, Virginia. His father, Jim Coleman was electrocuted while working as a market manager for Food Lion in Mount Airy in 2002. As a result of his injuries, Mr. Coleman has multiple permanent injuries, including cognitive difficulties. Andrew was 16 at the time of his father’s accident. He is a graduate of Magna Vista High School in Ridgeway. Andrew initially enrolled at Radford college but found that with limited finances and being needed at home, necessitated that he return to Ridgeway to be with the family. Recognizing the need for a college education, he immediately enrolled at Patrick Henry Community college where he is still a student. He works as a grill manager to help support the family. He is pursing a career in firefighting and EMT. He is a volunteer with the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department. While is High School, Andrew was a member of the Drama Club, Math Club and Thespians Club. The Fire Chief at Ridgeway describes Andrew as growing in knowledge, self-esteem and spirit.
